Healthy Eating

Providing you with healthy options is something your dining team proudly does every day. We help you select delicious, nutritious and satisfying meals, snacks and desserts by highlighting well-balanced menu choices and providing nutritional information and tips to help you make choices that fit your needs.

Food Allergies

We take pride in serving you wholesome ingredients, preparing recipes accurately, and providing nutritional analysis for our foods. From our general manager to our front-line servers, we work carefully to address food allergies, gluten-free diets, and other special dietary needs. We want to meet one-on-one with anyone who has individual dining needs to ensure that your dining experience is safe, delicious, and social. If you have a food allergy/special diet concern, please reach out to our campus dietitian at Chelsae.Gordon@sodexo.com.

Simple Servings:

Simple Servings is our resident dining option, providing safe and appetizing food choices for our customers with food allergies, gluten intolerance, or those who prefer tasteful, yet simpler, foods. The Simple Servings station does not offer foods made with the FDA most-common allergens of peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, wheat, soy, milk products, and eggs. All foods offered are made without gluten-containing ingredients. Simple Servings staff members are carefully trained to avoid cross-contact with their menu items. Separate equipment, storage areas, utensils, and preparation areas minimize, but do not totally eliminate, the chances of gluten and allergens in our Simple Servings food.

Simple Servings is open to anyone and is located in the Dining Center, running seven days a week serving both lunch and dinner. For more information on Simple Servings, please contact our registered dietitian at Chelsae.Gordon@sodexo.com.

Simple Zone:

Simple Zone is our campus "pantry" located in the Dining Center, where food items needed by students with Celiac disease or food allergies are stored and prepared with precautions against cross-contact. The Simple Zone area is free of tree nuts, peanuts, and gluten containing ingredients and products. Simple Zone gives students the ability to be involved in their own allergen-safe meal preparation with a dedicated microwave and toaster.

Menu Allergens:

When looking for vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, be sure to look for the appropriate icons: V for vegetarian, VG for vegan, and NGI for no gluten ingredients. Menu boards are updated daily to display vegan and gluten-free items and meals. Always let your server know if you have any dietary restrictions so they can help customize your experience and keep your food safe.

Menu items are prepared in a facility that uses these ingredients in the production of other ingredients. Although we take measures against this, the possibility of cross-contact with potential allergens does exist.

A team approach led by you is the best preparation for a safe school year. Please reach out to notify us of your allergies and keep us updated through-out your time at SNHU. If we do not hear from you, we believe that you are successfully navigating the dining locations.

Mindful

Locate a healthier choice! All Mindful offerings meet stringent nutritional criteria based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Each Mindful item has fewer than 30% of calories from fat, fewer than 10% of calories from saturated fat, is restricted in sodium and cholesterol, and emphasizes fiber.

VegetarianMenu items with the vegetarian icon contain no meat, fish or poultry, or any meat products such as soup base. Our vegetarian offerings meet the needs of lacto-ovo vegetarians and may include eggs and/or dairy products.

VeganVegan offerings contain no meat, fish, eggs, milk or other animal-derived products such as honey.

NGI iconMenu items with the NGI icon represent foods that have no gluten-containing ingredients, i.e. wheat, rye, barely, triticale, etc. We do not use the certified GF label because these foods are not prepared in a dedicated gluten-free kitchen. However we have protocols in place to reduce the risk of cross-contact.
