From lattes and ice cream to chicken bowls or chicken grillas, your meal plan can be used at any of the Sodexo retail locations on campus. You can even use it to purchase canned goods and laundry detergent at Penmen Place. It is a declining balance plan, which means you will only be charged the price of what you purchase, rather than blocks of meals per day. The meal plan works like a debit card from your student ID. Southern New Hampshire University offers five levels of dining plans. Any student who is new to SNHU will be assigned the Gold Plan ($1,900) for their first semester; this includes first year students, transfer students, and international students. Incoming sophomores (Innovation Scholars), current sophomores, juniors, and seniors may choose whichever meal plan that best suits their needs.These funds are the budget used to operate the dining services operation to include all the retail shops and dining center. We offer continuous dining at SNHU from 7:30am-10pm at one or more of our operations to service the needs of the students and SNHU community. As a resident student at SNHU dining services makes a commitment to you to be here to service your food needs each and every day. In dining services we pride ourselves on meeting the needs and special requests of our students whether it be extend hours of operation, variety in the food selection, meeting dietary needs and providing nutritional services, information and education to list a few.
As a condition of SNHU Housing, all students living on campus must purchase a meal plan each semester. Fall meal plan balances will carry over to spring semester. Regardless of carry over balance from the fall semester, a new meal plan must be selected for the spring semester. You may purchase a different level of meal plan for the second semester. Meal Plans can only be changed during the first two weeks of the semester. All meal plans are non-refundable.

Meal plan balances are carried forward from first to second semester.
Any balance at the end of the academic year is forfeited. All plans are non-refundable. Penmen Cash is a site for students, faculty, staff and parents to manage a campus card account. SNHU community members and parents are able to add money to the campus ID card via the web or by using the Penmen Cash App on your iPhone. (Android version coming at later date.) In addition to managing your cash with this service, you have access to valuable information about account balances, spending history, and the ability to report lost or stolen card at any time, day or night.

Meal plan exemptions are only granted for extreme dietary restrictions that can not be accommodated in the dining center.
If you have an extreme dietary restriction and would like to be considered for exception from a meal plan, please complete the exception form and email it to Chelsae Gordon, our Campus Dietitian at Chelsae.Gordon@sodexo.com. All meal plan exception requests must be made by February 15, 2023 for the Spring 2023 semester. Requests submitted after this date will not be considered.
